Palomar Rejuvelux Photofacial was developed for pigmented and vascular lesions on the face, neck and decollete. The Rejuvelux process is able to clear sunspots, redness, telangiectasis, poikiloderma and other conditions in order to improve skin tone. Vascular treatments work through the absorption of light in oxyhemoglobin within the blood vessel. The resulting heat causes the vessel wall to constrict and fade from view. The melanin in the pigmented lesions (cause of the dark spots) absorbs the heat from the light, causing them to darken and crust and are naturallly sloughed from the skin within a couple of weeks.
